01Origin

I started as a founder, not an agency.

Years before Relicus existed, I was building my own ecom stores. DTC, Amazon, retail — whatever I could ship and sell. I wasn't reading playbooks. I was writing the cheques, taking the calls, and finding out — the hard way — which advice survives contact with reality and which doesn't.

02The early years

Built the stack on my own dime.

Offer, traffic, site, PDP, checkout, ops, customer service — I had to learn every layer because there was nobody else to delegate to. That's not a hardship story. It's why, today, when I look at a store, I can tell within a few clicks which layer is leaking — because I've been the one bleeding from each of them.

03The scar

Then one of them nearly ended me.

Then I started seeing my scar everywhere.

The more founders I met, the clearer it got: most of them were one decision away from the same wound. "Conversion is flat" was almost never about the site. "Carts are abandoning" almost never started at the cart. The pattern was always upstream — and almost always invisible to anyone who hadn't operated their own store. That insight is what turned me from an operator into someone other operators called.

Why I built Relicus.

I still run my own stores today. I built Relicus to extend that operator's eye to other founders — so the next one through doesn't have to learn what I learned by losing money.
